This is most likely due to the fact that they can be baked in so many different ways that different people will prefer them in a different way. Some people like them soft and gooey in middle. Others would rather it were not dissimilar to a slice of regular chocolate cake. Either way, the basic ingredients are likely to be the same, varying some of the ingredients and the length of cooking time will deliver different results, so experiment and see which of the different ways you prefer. So how to make chocolate brownies and what are the basic ingredients and methods involved?

How to make chocolate brownies perfect is by essentially making a large slab and then cutting it after it has cooled, if you can wait that long as warm brownies are even more delicious.
The ingredients required are:

  • 330g caster sugar,
  • 180g butter,
  • 2tbsp coffee (in liquid form),
  • 1tbsp milk,
  • 3 eggs,
  • 2tsp vanilla extract,
  • 160g plain flour,
  • 120g cocoa powder,
  • 1/2tsp baking powder,
  • 1/4tsp salt,
  • 75g chocolate chips
  • and 75g of chopped walnuts.

In order to find out how to make chocolate brownies, as with all baking you need to ensure you use the correct measurements of the ingredients. For example do not mix metric and imperial measures. Pre-heat your oven 190C and combine together the sugar, coffee, butter and milk in a bowl and beat them to ensure they are well combined together. Next, thoroughly combine into this the eggs and vanilla extract. Finally, fold in the cocoa, flour, baking powder and salt and chocolate chips. Pour all of the combined ingredients into a suitably sized, greased baking tin. Sprinkle the walnuts on top, if you prefer you walnuts to inside the brownies then combine them in the mixture at the same time as the chocolate chips.

They will not take very long to bake. Usually about 20 to 25 minutes. This is the point where you need to decide how to make chocolate brownies with a gooey consistency or not. Do it a little bit less if you like them really gooey, or a few minutes longer if you would prefer them not to be. As a guideline, a skewer inserted into the middle will come out clean and they can still be soft in the middle, if this is how you like them then take them out at this point. If you bake them for about 15 minutes they will be really soft, not everyone likes them like this so it will depend who you are going to be serving them to according to how long you cook them. Cut them into slices once they have cooled as they will cut better this way.
